Nearly two and a half months now in Wix, there's so much to absorb and learn, from the interpersonal dynamics, the organizational culture, the way of doing things, the products, the work, the mission. On a personal level, one of my challenges over this time was to manage my time well, communicate just about anything, and finish the week feeling exhausted or that no matter how much I put into it, I felt like there was still so much work to be done.
So I am managing the uncertainty and learning to co-exist peacefully with the fact that I won't be able to get everything done. I am shifting my mindset to focus on progress and small wins, moving forward with determination, constantly adjusting priorities, and continuously learning what's important. I keep asking questions, working as a team, lifting my head from the work to stay aware of my surroundings, having fun, not pushing too hard, and not playing it too easy.
Over the weekend, I spent about 2-2.5 hours planning my week ahead. Meticulously going hour by hour from the beginning of my week, inquiring every hour, "What will I be doing next?" This helped me make time for things I usually didn't and avoid getting too dragged down by some tasks while neglecting others. This morning, I started the week by sitting with my manager. He gave some feedback on my weekly plan, which felt good. I opened the week with a positive feeling, and even finished all my emails (well, almost).
